Something Classic of Paris

If without cathedral Notre Dame de Paris, Napoleonic Arc de Triomphe, and Eiffel Tower, Paris could not be such a famous city. Although there were so many other things amazing in Paris, those landmarks could not be skipped in this trip.

Compared to the symmetrical and highly balanced shape of this cathedral, I love the details of it more. As the finest French Gothic Architecture, every single statue is so delicate and beautiful. I thought about using them as details of garment right away. They can be used as pleats in an evening gown or their shapes can be used as trims and even buttons in a jacket or a blouse.

Eiffel Tower,
I love the Eiffel Tower! It is so gorgeous at day time as well as at night. The best perspective is standing inside and looking up. I was amazed by its complicated construction as well as its delicate details. Instead of taking endless pictures, I stood there for almost ten minutes, admiring its beauty. I was thinking transfer its shape into the silhouette of an evening gown. It could be an empire waisted dress with a long flared bottom. It could also be a long skirt attached to a structured strapless bodice. The construction of the Eiffel Tower can be used as the layout of the bonings of bodice. Also, it can be interpreted into decoration of the skirt or a cool digital prints on it.

Napoleonic Arc de Triomphe did not give me any inspiration, unfortunately. However, climbing to its roof was quite an experience! Before that, we walked from the Opera House to it for almost an hour! Navigating together, asking for the destination with our broken French, and then we arrived! It was such a triumph for us! On the top of it we saw the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, and Montmartre. It offered a better view than that from the Eiffel Tower.

BTW,among all the bridges in Paris, Pont Alexandre III is one of my favorite!

Pont Neuf and Pont des Arts are second and third favorites.

Travel tips:
1. Using museum pass can go to the roof of Triumphal Arch without waiting.
2. There are several places to get on and off the boat. One is around the Eiffel Tower, the other one is around the Notre Dame.
3. Paris is huge, better to take a metro.
